This is the first of the Angel-Stories:
It was my job to deliver and pick up work from Hobart twice a week, usually with my two children in tow, then very young indeed. One of them was still residing in my tummy. Often I returned home late, as my many activities, including weekly food shopping and visiting friends and family, took all day. Our lovely parents in law often invited us for dinner, before driving home. So one of those days I returned especially late. It was wintertime, and the countryside was bathed in total darkness. I had been searching all over town for this and that. We where renovating our home, therefore we needed all sorts of supplies to accomplish our desired results, including things like doors, paints, nuts and bolts and nails, kitchen sinks etc etc etc. I am sure you know all about such ventures. I was driving a very old Mercedes Benz Car. It was very slow in responding to my commands and had lost things like the hand-break cable years ago. It was very comfortable and felt save. On this late evening I travelled with my girls, one in the car seat, one in my tummy, confidentially towards home. I took the shortcut called Scots Road. I was approaching a dip, deep and narrow. I heard a voice saying: ”Slow down!” I responded but obviously not enough… “SLOW DOWN!!!!!” was the repeated command… I stepped on the break with my full strength and the Car came finally to a stop. To my surprise I spotted a very large black bull at the bottom of the dip, standing perfectly still, right in front of my headlights, in the middle of the road. He was as surprised as I was, and looked strait at me appearing to be very calm. Strangely enough that was giving me the opportunity to regroup and think of a way to make him move. I felt he was to large to tackle with things like the horn of the car, what if he became agitated and attacked this metal bull, standing before him. I felt rather devoid of good ideas and waited. So did he… then after a brief prayer for help on my behalf, he very slowly moved and departed to enter his master’s paddock next to the road. I was filled with gratitude for the presence of the inner voice, as without I would have ploughed into the bull, perhaps killing him and almost surely experiencing great discomfort and damaging the car as well, not even mentioning the trauma it would have been for the little passengers. As I slowly accelerated to continue my journey home, I decided to listen to the quiet and sometimes not so quiet voice within more often. It has payed off many more times, and I am truly grateful for the knowing that I am protected and guided in times of need. My responsibility is: to listen… and to foster the courage and the ability to … respond!

and act upon it despite opposition from the rational mind. To help develop ones own authority.
